100% Natural; the tatami mat is made with a straw-like material called "igusa" which is a plant grown in Japan. This natural fiber is a similar product used to create tatamis in Japanese architecture.

The Igusa is an natural material that actually provides additional multiple functions which includes air purification, humidity adjustment, and deodorization.
No Toxic Chemicals
There are no chemicals added in the process of making the tatami mat from harvest to preparation of the materials. The colors are also created by using natural dyes.
